Top Technical Assistance Questions from RVers in Q4 2023 – RVBusiness – Breaking RV Industry News
GRAPEVINE, Texas – Overall utilization of troubleshooting services was on par with expectations for the 4th quarter of 2023, according to a release from Specialized Dispatch Services (SDS).
By stating “on par”, SDS officials refer to the more historical RV utilization periods. Historically, RVing season has been somewhere between Memorial Day and Labor Day. While the season has grown to be more reflective of somewhere between April 1 and Nov. 1, over the past few years we have seen quite a growth in full year use. The 4th quarter of 2023 has shown an early indicator that the season is returning to a more “traditional use” period.
In regard to what RV users are seeking assistance for, for the 4th quarter of 2023 the top 10 list looked to be extremely logical for this time of the year. The list was mostly comprised of comfort and power issues. There didn’t seem to be experience any extremely severe weather events, throughout the U.S., as opposed to two extreme weather events in the fall of 2022. A year-over-year (2022-23) comparison (see below) identifies the differences. The 2022 4th Quarter Top 10 contained calls around tanks and leaks whereas those items did not make the list in 2023.
Specialized Dispatch Services (SDS) currently provides services to a large number of RV households which is growing daily, this gives us a unique insight into the problems/issues that RVer’s are experiencing. To assist the industry to best plan and prepare for service and support needs, SDS will be providing quarterly updates that identify the most frequent reasons RV owners are seeking technical assistance and at times physical service.
