WATCH: Fritz the Hippo Shows off His New Tricks

The Cincinnati Zoo has become rather famous over the past few years for its two hippopotamuses, Fiona and Fritz. The well-known Fiona was born six weeks prematurely and survived a number of complications against the odds. And just last year, Fiona became a big sister to baby Fritz, who just celebrated his first birthday. In the last year, Fritz, too, has become a bit of an internet sensation with a variety of videos going viral, thanks to his various antics. 

On August 15, the Cincinnati Zoo posted an adorable video of Fritz showing off some of the new tricks and training behaviors he’s learned. The video, which was released on the anniversary of receiving his name, features him showing off for the cameras how he can open his mouth, walk backward, and how he now allows zookeepers to touch his ears without backing away.
