Video: Meet the Boreas EOS-12 Off-Road Four-Season Travel Trailer
Boreas Campers has always built some of the most rugged towables on the market, but with its new EOS-12 model, the Colorado-based company is taking things to the next level. The latest edition to the Boreas line-up looks to maintain its legacy of making off-road travel trailers designed for off-grid travel. But a slew of new features and design improvements makes this look like its best model yet.
The video above provides a thorough walkthrough of this intriguing new model, which is built from the ground up for four-season camping. The pop-up trailer includes a fully-insulated cabin, heated holding tanks with insulated water lines, and a Truma Combi Eco Plus furnace. All of those features help keep the EOS-12 warm and cozy even when the outside temperature drops below freezing.
When fully expanded, the EOS-12’s ceiling rises to over 6’ 6”, allowing most people to stand up inside comfortably. The interior provides space for up to five people and has a wet bath, plenty of onboard storage, and a spacious dinette. The galley kitchen comes with a three-burner Furrion cooktop, a Truma 96L dual-zone refrigerator, and a stainless steel sink with hot and cold running water. The sleeping accommodations include a permanent queen-size bed with pull-out bunks for guests.
“This is the goldilocks of the off-road, off-grid camper trailer world,” says Matt Reichel, owner of Boreas Campers, in a press release. Reichel, who also hosts the video tour, added, “The unit is large enough to have a wet bath and stand inside, but small enough to truly access the backcountry. With top-of-the-line solar and battery options, you can truly get off the grid in comfort.”
The EOS-12 comes standard with 300-watt solar panels mounted on the roof and a Victron MPPT solar charge controller. It is prewired for portable solar panels, too, making it easy to expand capacity as needed. The power system has a 540 amp-hour Battle Born Gamechanger 3.0 lithium battery, and Victron Multiplus 12/3000/80 inverter/charger supplies power to interior outlets and USB ports.
The travel trailer is also among the first to feature the Garmin O.N.E. (operations, navigation, and entertainment) system. This all-in-one solution is controlled using a tablet and gives users features like auto-leveling capabilities and the option to control interior lighting, climate settings, and more. The tablet can also be used in the tow vehicle for navigation or to stream music and video while parked at the campsite.
“The Garmin O.N.E. system integrates all systems of the camper with a tablet that allows you to auto-level the camper at the touch of a button, says Reichel. “The independent Cruisemaster air suspension handles variable terrain with ease and tows like a dream on the highway. It really is the perfect package for folks wanting to explore away from the crowds.”
All of these features help the Boreas Campers EOS-12 stand out in the competitive overland/off-road camper space. The well-equipped travel trailer is available now with a starting price of $79,990. To find out more, including a full list of features and options, visit the company’s website.
