Top Technical Assistance Questions from RVers in Q1 ’23

As 2023 began, overall RV utilization slowed considerably from November and December of 2022, according to a report by Specialized Dispatch Services (SDS)  which provides providing third party dispatch and assistance services for customers who desire “Ultra High Quality” customer care.

As SDS provides virtual technical and troubleshooting assistance services, it supports what “pain points” the average RV user is experiencing. The last part of the 4th quarter of 2022 saw a significant usage of services, mostly around cold weather periods. This signals that many RV owners are using their RV’s almost year round. While usage was high in the holiday months, it dropped off quite a bit in January and February. March saw a strong uptick in use, which says RV usage is picking back up.

The top 10 items that RV users called in for assistance with are shown in the graph above. Compared with the preceding 4th quarter, furnaces, water heaters, slides, leveling, and electrical questions all remained in the top 10.

Specialized Dispatch Services (SDS) currently provides services to a large number of RV households, which is growing daily. This gives SDS a unique insight into the problems/issues that RVers are experiencing.
