  • The Dyrt Finds Veterans are More Likely to be Campers: A recent survey by The Dyrt—a website and app dedicated to helping users find campsites—reveals that US military vets or active military make up 14.8% of all campers. That number is more than twice the total number of veterans in the country’s overall population, which sits at 6.4%. The survey included more than 4,000 respondents and was conducted as part of the company’s annual Camping Report, due early next year.   • Veteran Overland Help Service Men and Women Transition Back to Civilian Life: Speaking of veterans, we all know how challenging it can be for military personnel to transition back to civilian life. It is also well documented that getting outdoors and embarking on an adventure can help lower stress levels and stave off PTSD. To that end, an organization called Veteran Overland is helping US servicemen and women discover a new sense of belonging and purpose through off-road vehicular travel in remote places. The goal is to use overlanding as a way to bring vets together and help them heal as they embark on the next phase of their lives.   • Winnebago Announces “Flying W” Award Winners: For each of the past four years, Winnebago has handed out its prestigious “Flying W” awards to its dealerships that display exemplary customer service and satisfaction.   • Lippert Reinvents the RV Door Latch: RV components manufacturer Lippert has announced a new door latch that it believes is a game changer for the RV industry. The all-new LatchXtend door handle extension adds 10″ to the length of the latch, making it easier for kids, seniors, or anyone who has challenges with mobility to open an RV door and enter the vehicle.   • Dill Launches Bluetooth TPMS at SEMA: Last week’s SEMA show revealed dozens of new products for motorhomes, travel trailers, and overlapping vehicles. One of the most interesting was a new aftermarket tire pressure monitoring system from Dill. The unit uses Bluetooth technology to transmit current tire pressure information to a receiver mounted in the cockpit of the RV or tow vehicle.
