NAPPANEE, Ind. – Gulf Stream Coach was honored to serve as the host venue for “Camp Hero,” a summer-season day camp conducted for grade-school students by members of the Nappanee, Indiana Police Force, Fire Department, and other First Responders, according to a release from the RV manufacturer.

The stage for the week-long camp started when a Med Flight helicopter landed at Gulf Stream Coach, while a cordon of service vehicles with emergency lights blazing lined up at on the drive leading to the entrance of The Hall to at Oakland Park, which served as the ‘clubhouse’ for the week’s activities.

Once registered, student-participants were able to meet and talk to real-life heroes, who used several interactive presentations to describe their responsibilities.  The students heard directly from officers about their duties, from barn fires to Bomb Squad skills and Swat Team procedures.  Along the way, students were able to examine key protective and defensive gear.  They also heard inspiring stories about the challenges and rewards of a career in public service, told first-hand by men and women who have dedicated their lives to protecting the local community.

Gulf Stream Coach maintains Oakland Park and The Hall on the site of its main production complex to provide facilities for a wide range of activities like “Camp Hero,” other community gatherings, private social events, dealer functions, and employee celebrations.
