Women Freak out Over Seeing Humpback Whales up Close

A group of people at Great Bear Lodge in British Columbia got a special treat when several humpback whales showed of their unique bubble-net feeding method right in front of them. One woman in particular was so stoked about the experience that she quickly becomes the best part of the video. Her joy at experiencing this incredible wildlife moment is infectious.

Great Bear Lodge is a floating lodge within Canada’s Great Bear Rainforest. Recently, right off a small floating dock, a group of humpback whales were using their cooperative hunting strategy that involves blowing bubbles from their blowholes to coerce a school of fish to move closer to the surface. Once they’ve corralled the fish where they want them, the whales lunge and gulp down hundreds of small fish at a time.

That’s what the women standing on the dock witnessed, and they were beyond thrilled. They throw their arms up in the air, point at the whales emphatically, and give each other high fives.
