Why Is There a ‘Massive Door’ in Antarctica? Conspiracies Abound

A Reddit user discovered a “massive door” in Antarctica and posted it to get others’ feedback on what it could be and why it’s there. And then the conspiracy theories began flowing. Theories range from a cheeky “Bigfoot’s vacation home” comment to the more plausible idea that the “door” is somehow connected to the nearby Japanese permanent research facility called Showa Station.

Although the post is from earlier this year, if you plug in the coordinates to Google Maps, the strange object/”door” is still exactly where the Reddit user said it was back in March. Some in the Reddit community say it’s too large to be a door, claiming that if you apply the proper scale, that object is about 100 feet wide. Others say it’s too perfectly rectangular to be natural.
