Wholesale RV Shipments into Canada Down 15.7% in 2023 – RVBusiness – Breaking RV Industry News
BURLINGTON, Ont. – The Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association reports that RV Wholesale Shipments into Canada for the 4th Quarter ending Dec. 31, 2023 totaled 6,303 units compared to 7,480 in 2022, representing a decrease of 15.7% year over year.
According to Statistical Surveys, RVDA of Canada reported that Retail Activity during the 4th Quarter totaled 3,455 units and when compared to the wholesale shipment figure of 6,303 units, Canadian RV Dealer Inventory levels significantly increased during the period reversing negative trends that were reported in prior quarters in the year. This is considered to be a positive sign as Dealers gear up for the Canadian Winter/Spring Show Season in 2024.
For the calendar year, CRVA reports that RV Wholesale Shipments into Canada totaled 26,171 units vs 56,151 units in 2022, representing a decrease of 53.4% overall for the year. The Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association is optimistic that trends will be positive in 2024 given reported success at various Canadian retail shows this year which have attracted a large number of RV enthusiasts and potential buyers. As economic conditions stabilize and consumer confidence grows, it is expected that more and
more individuals and families will look at RVs closely again as a viable option for travel and leisure.
