WATCH: Avalanche Caught on Video in Colorado Backcountry

Marla Doughty witnessed her first avalanche in the Colorado backcountry and caught it on video. Several people on snowmobiles were in the path of the avalanche, but Doughty says everyone walked away unscathed.

AccuWeather shared Doughty’s footage to its Instagram page, saying a snowmobile higher up on the slope likely triggered the avalanche that nearly took out others down below. When recreating in avalanche conditions, be sure you know what to do if this happens to you.
