BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. —Walex Products Company Inc. has announced that production at its manufacturing facility is now 100% solar-powered following a groundbreaking solar array installation. This initiative highlights Walex’s commitment to green energy and sets a new standard in the RV & Marine industry for sustainable business practices.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture awarded Walex a grant to help pay the cost to install a 300-kilowatt solar array on the roof of its manufacturing facility. This array is poised to generate an impressive 427,000 kilowatt-hours per year, which is enough to cover 100% of Walex’s production energy needs.

The funding, sourced from the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Grant, underscores the importance of renewable energy projects in promoting economic prosperity and environmental stewardship in rural America.

“Walex is at the forefront of integrating sustainable solutions into our operations,” said Tony Butler, RV & Marine Sales Manager for Walex. “Our solar panel project is not just an investment in renewable energy; it’s a commitment to our community, customers, and the planet. By reducing our reliance on traditional energy sources, we are paving the way for a cleaner, greener future.”

This solar initiative is a key component of Walex’s broader sustainability strategy, which includes the implementation of Recycle Ready Packaging, a shift to electric forklifts, and an ongoing commitment to developing innovative formulas that utilize eco-friendly ingredients without sacrificing performance. The project represents a tangible expression of Walex’s environmental responsibility ethos and its dedication to reducing its carbon footprint.

Walex’s pioneering solar project is a significant milestone in the company’s history and a clear indication of its leadership in the RV and marine industries’ sustainability efforts. As Walex continues to innovate and lead by example, it remains dedicated to delivering high-quality, eco-friendly products and solutions to its customers worldwide.
