Viral Video: Guys Drop Big Rocks off Bridge, and People Love It

Jesse Darnell and some friends had a good time dropping big rocks off a bridge, and now millions of people are watching their video. I have to admit, before I watched it for myself, I was curious why the video had gone viral. But there’s something pretty satisfying about watching those rocks drop and absolutely pulverize when they hit the right spot below the bridge. However, some viewers give Darnell and his group a hard time for messing with nature. This activity is not exactly in line with “leave no trace,” after all.

“For my male audience,” wrote Darnell in a text overlay on the video, inferring that the men in his online community would appreciate watching the rocks smash against the ground far below. The comments section is full of mixed opinions. Many people had a good time watching their fun. Others thought it was a dumb thing to do.

“What if there were someone down below?” asks one person.

“Hey geologist/ecologist here, its [insanely] stupid and destructive to throw rocks from one geological area to another and who cares this [sh*t’s] awesome lads I wanna see a boulder thrown off this thing,” wrote another, poking fun at people who disagree with the activity.

“WOMEN CAN ENJOY THIS TOO,” wrote a third person. (Several other comments share this same sentiment.)

And then, there are all the comments about the camera work.

“Get this man on the movie set. The zoom, the tracking, everything. 10/10,” someone gushed.
