Video: The Forest River Timberwolf is a Destination Trailer Made for Glamping

Destination trailers—or park models as they are sometimes called—have risen in popularity in recent years. While still highly mobile, this type of RV is designed more for parking at a campsite for extended periods rather than towing to different locations on a regular basis. As a result, these trailers often have floorplans that are roomier and feel more residential than their traditional travel trailer cousins. Take, for example, the new Forest River Timberwolf 16ML, which looks more like a modern mountain cabin rather than a towable.

The video above takes us on a tour of this beautiful and well-equipped park model, providing an in-depth look at the trailer’s interior and exterior. From the outside, the large windows are especially noteworthy, as is the amazing-looking covered deck found at the rear of the trailer. Also of note, the Timberwolf 16ML doesn’t have any slide-outs and is noticeably taller than most other RVs, an indication of the expansive living space found inside.

Sliding glass doors off the patio grant access to the interior of the Timberwolf. Once inside, you’ll find a spacious living area—complete with a well-padded couch and recliner—located next to a large kitchen area. Standard appliances include an induction cooktop, a microwave, a stove, and a residential-style refrigerator. Buyers will also get a high-rise faucet over the sink, a combination washer/dryer, a dishwasher, and even an ice maker.

A mini-loft sits above the patio, offering  space for kids or guests to sleep. The primary bedroom is accessed up a flight of stairs and is found above the kitchen. It features a king-size bed, plenty of storage, and even a small fireplace. The bathroom is equally expansive, with a large shower and sink, a porcelain toilet, and lots of wood cabinets. There is even a medicine cabinet with a mirror.

After seeing the Timberwolf inside and out, it’s hard not to be impressed with what Forest River has built with this destination trailer. It packs a lot of features into an excellent floorplan that utilizes the available space in some creative ways. While a park model may not be the RV for everyone, it is exciting to see what the industry is doing with this type of RV while also pondering where future editions could go.
