Video: A Look Inside an EarthRoamer SX Luxury Expedition Vehicle

The EarthRoamer SX has long been an object of obsession for anyone who appreciates off-road vehicular exploration and travel. Built on a Chevy 6500 chassis, the rugged camper ticks all the boxes when it comes to overlanding, but sadly, its $1+ million price tag puts it out of reach for most of us. But if you’ve ever wondered what that much cash will buy you, the video above will be especially interesting. It takes us on a tour of the interior of this RV, where you’ll find some surprisingly upscale amenities.

There is no doubt the EarthRoamer SX is impressive in every sense of the word. The truck-based Class C model comes with a 100-gallon diesel fuel tank, 120-gallon fresh water tank, and 55-gallon gray water capacity. It also has 1600 watts of solar power and an 18-kilo-watt-hour battery pack. Those features allow it to wander far off the beaten path and stay there for days at a time.

But boondocking in the SX isn’t exactly roughing it. Inside, the vehicle offers a luxury camping experience that includes plenty of space to spread out and lots of onboard storage. In addition to an outdoor galley with a gas grill, the interior kitchen is equipped with a three-burner induction stove, microwave, residential refrigerator, and freezer. A wine fridge is optional.

Depending on the floorplan, the vehicle can comfortably sleep four to six people, with the primary bedroom located above the cab. That space includes a skylight for stargazing and a comfortable California king mattress. The onboard dry bath is equally expansive, with a walk-in shower complete with a rainfall spigot, a vanity sink, and a cassette toilet.

The above description doesn’t do the SX justice, however. To get a true sense of how beautiful and well-appointed the vehicle actually is, you’ll need to watch the YouTube clip above.
