Travel Light RV in Growth Mode, Adds Two to Sales Team

SYRACUSE, Ind. – Travel Lite RV (TLRV), a maker of lightweight travel trailers and truck campers, is in growth mode, adding two new team members to its sales staff and 17 new dealers in the past three months.

“We’ve expanded,” TLRV CEO Ryan Rebar told RVBusiness on Thursday. “We’ve had one salesperson for the past two-and-a-half years, and as good as the market has been to us we had to expand.”

TLRV hired industry vets Bob Cira and Jason Farver and realigned its sales staff. Cira will serve as national sales manager, Farver will handle East Coast duties and existing sales exec Keith Lessner will oversee the West Coast. Sales trainer Jody Timmins will focus on sales in Canada.

“For us, we’ve been running nonstop. We haven’t had any shutdowns. We haven’t had any problems.” Rebar said. “I think I have two 2023s in the yard. We just needed more bodies. We have signed 17 new dealers in the last three months. We just needed more bodies to cover our customers and make sure they are getting the level of service we want them to. I’m really excited about it.”

National Sales Manager Bob Cira

Cira, a 13-year industry vet – including a 10-year stint at Highland Ridge – was attracted to TLRV’s lineup of lightweight offerings.

“I really like the product. We’re really hitting the sweet spot in the marketplace right now,” Cira said. “Our Rove Lite series, for instance, is 1,700 to 2,000 pounds dry weight and can be towed by virtually any vehicle on the road. And, it’s still going to give you the bathroom, gray water tank, black water tank, freshwater tank. So, it’s going to be a mix of a teardrop and a conventional trailer.”

He said TLRV units offer good value and a lot of different options for customers who don’t want to upgrade to a tow vehicle to pull a traditional, full-size travel trailer – a combination he believes is a winner in today’s market.

“And on our truck camper side, it’s the same thing,” he said. “Very light weight and really coming in at a great price point in the truck camper space.”

Sales Rep Farver comes to TLRV after more than 10 years in the industry, most recently working in sales at Coachmen RV.

Sales Rep Jason Farver

Both his father and grandfather worked in the industry, producing fiberglass sidewalls. “I feel like I was born on a sheet of luaun,” Farver joked.

He also was attracted to TLRV because of the potential for its product line to grow in the market.

“Just the lightweight units. With the number of electric vehicles coming out in the market, I think I’m sitting on a gold mine,” he said. “Aluminum chassis, light weight, composite materials.”

He also likes the idea of a smaller operation.
“At TLRV, it’s nice that your voice is heard more easily,” he said. “You don’t have five, six, seven bosses ahead of you. We’re a pretty tight-knit group here. Our focus is all the same – making a nice, lightweight, affordable unit. We all work together really well.”
