When a Florida panther crossed paths with an opossum, a trail camera was there to capture the drama. The Florida panther, a rare subspecies of mountain lion native to southern Florida, is very aware of the opossum’s presence, but the opossum doesn’t seem to know how much danger it’s in. At one point, the two animals square off, but it might surprise you how this one ends.

“Florida Panther and opossum encounter caught on camera recently in Collier County,” wrote Matt Devitt, a Florida meteorologist, in his Instagram post sharing the viewer-submitted video.

Commenters joke about how it’s shocking the opossum has lived this long if it’s this oblivious to a predator right in front of its face. One person wrote: “I had the same encounter with [an opossum] the other day. They walk right into you.”
