This RV Monster Truck is the Camping Overlander of Our Dreams

Overlanding is combining four-wheeling with camping. Going off-road allows outdoor lovers to get further into the backcountry, away from the crowds, and find secluded areas to spend the night. While having some experience and knowledge of off-roading is recommended, this monster truck camper would allow you to go just about anywhere.

While we should point out that this isn’t really for camping, and wheels that say may not be the best choice to carve through the desert, it’s still a pretty fun idea.

In the video from Tomfoolery Motorsports, they unveil their latest creation, which is a replica of a classic RV camper. They then get to work and show the vehicle hitting jumps and doing what monster trucks do best.

Overlanding is a great alternative to get outside. People can find endless miles of trails and areas where you can legally drive and camp. Many of these areas are located in states like Utah, Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico.

If you plan on getting into off-roading, the Bureau of Land Management has a great list of safety tips:

  • Driving off-road on BLM lands is a violation. Existing roads and trails are authorized for travel unless otherwise indicated. Remember: It’s not okay to follow a bad example if somebody else breaks the rules.
  • Motorized access to public lands must be accomplished by an established county road or highway. Permission must be obtained when crossing private land to get to BLM-administered lands.
  • OHV users may only drive cross-country to campsites within 300 feet of an existing road or trail after locating their campsite in a non-motorized fashion. Please don’t drive all over the countryside to select a camping spot.
