New Mexico is indeed a popular destination for snowbirds, but the Land of Enchantment has plenty to appreciate during the other seasons of the year as well. Some of the biggest attractions include the unique cities, historical sites, and vibrant festivals. So, if you’re planning for the upcoming season and looking for a base camp that will put you close to all this and more, try Santa Fe Skies RV Park.

As the name suggests, this park is on the outskirts of Santa Fe, but it’s also about an hour away from Albuquerque. Both of these are hotspots for visitors, so you’ll find plenty to see and do during your stay. The campground is also very well-reviewed and comes with several amenities that will make you want to return again and again.

Overview

Santa Fe Skies RV Park is located on the southwest edge of Santa Fe, granting guests some peace and quiet from the busier parts of the city.

The campground also has a good mix of social interaction and privacy. There are 98 campsites in total, making this a decent size for those who want to host large groups. But it still offers space around each campsite and a layout that allows for some privacy. Some campers even get an unobstructed view of the surrounding wilderness.

The park has several modern amenities for comfort and convenience. For instance, each campsite has access to hookups for water, sewage, and electricity. There’s even an on-site solar-power system that harnesses the rays of the New Mexico sun to provide some energy for the residents.

The sites and road are also covered in gravel for better traction and drainage. In addition, each site includes a paved patio and a picnic table where you can set up a relaxing outdoor space.

There is an almost 50/50 mix of back-in and pull-through sites, so you’ll have your pick of the litter. Green spaces are scattered throughout the park, both in between sites and in larger spaces like the communal picnic area. Big-rig sites are also available here for campers who need more space.

Now onto the rates! This campground is a bit pricier than many others in the area, but campers generally felt that they got a great value for their money. The cost may vary based on the site type you reserve and the time of year you visit, but it generally costs between $75–$100 per night to stay at Santa Fe Skies RV Park.

Part of the reason why it’s more expensive is because this park is entirely family-built, owned, and operated. The owners don’t have an outside source to help pad the cost of running the place, and they strive to provide a fantastic experience to every guest. Amenities

For starters, each campsite can tap into the free Wi-Fi network that spans the entire park. This makes it easy to stream content, play music, or do some office work from the comfort of your RV. There is also great phone service for carriers like Sprint, AT&T, Starlink, T-Mobile, and Verizon. So you don’t have to worry about being cut off from the rest of the world.

But if you do want to take a break from everything, there are lots of ways to enjoy the outdoors. There is a walking trail that runs around the perimeter of the park, a large picnic area, and a dog park where your four-legged friends can get their energy out.

The walking trail goes past a unique collection of antique engines and mechanical equipment. So if you have an interest in all things vintage, be sure to take a peek while you’re taking a stroll. The entire park also features lovely landscaping, including many types of trees, shrubs, and grasses. It’s a welcome addition to the desert environment of New Mexico.
