The Nebu Summit B-52 & Rob Roy

“Everything you need, and nothing you don’t.”

I love supporting new outdoor companies, and when I heard that a new brand had popped up in my own backyard of Ogden, Utah I was stoked. Founded less than a year ago, Nebu Summit offers some exceptional trekking and outdoor pants at a great price. I’ve spent the better part of two years looking for the best outdoor pants to fit my needs, and this duo they’ve created offers the perfect solution for any environment and condition you may find yourself in.

The B-52

To be completely honest, I was not expecting to like these pants as much as I did. Filling the role of Nebu’s desert hot weather pant, it’s incredibly light weight and breathable. Having only really ever worn heavier pants, I didn’t think that I would like the fit. After wearing them for a week in Bryce Canyon, I was hooked. Durable enough to handle rock scrambles but light enough to keep me cool throughout the day, it quickly became my favorite of the two. One of my favorite features of how light these pants are is how quickly the dry off. Advertised to dry “in minutes instead of hours” they really do live up to their promise. Putting this to the test, I decided to take a dunk in the creek next to Mossy Cave to see how fast they really would dry off. Sure enough, after only about a half hour of hiking, they were bone dry.

Being so lightweight and stretchy, I can see these pants having a huge market for climbers. Lending my pair to a buddy of mine that climbs, he said that he loved how nonrestrictive they were while also providing more coverage than just wearing shorts.

The Rob Roy

A durable yet still lightweight mountain pant, The Rob Roy is perfect for backpacking and really any other adventure under the sun. While being much heavier duty that the B-52, these pants are still so comfortable to wear. One of my favorite things about these pants are how sleek they look. With the “Iron Sage color”, they’re classy enough to wear to a business causal event and rugged enough to bag peaks after. While not advertised, I’ve noticed these pants have a bit of water repellency to them. While filtering some water on a backpacking trip, any water that I spilled on me beaded right off.

Features

With how reasonable the prices for these pants are compared to similar products on the market, Nebu Summit offers some incredibly intuitive features that add so much versatility to these pants. To help distribute any potential weight from carrying gear in your pant pockets, Nebu has designed both the B-52 and The Rob Roy with multiple pockets to prevent from bagging and uncomfortable bunching while moving. Along with your traditional front and back pockets, both pants come with a built-in phone pocket on the right thigh as well as a small pocket for a pocketknife. With the phone pocket being slightly offset compared to regular front pockets, it allows for you to store you phone in a place where it’s still accessible even while wearing a harness.

Coming in at around $89 a pair, these pants are an absolute steal. I really couldn’t recommend them enough.
