1 in 7 campers reported that they camped on a farm last year according to the results of our Annual Camping Report. And why wouldn’t you? There are so many amazing campsites on farms, where you can wake up to the sound of a rooster crowing and the peaceful view of cows or horses grazing. Plus, access to farm fresh veggies is always a plus! You can find farm campgrounds on the Dyrt from North Carolina to Washington and everywhere in between.
Today in the Dyrt Digest, we share an expansion to a popular ski resort, a skin cancer foundation collaboration, and our favorite solar powered camp lighting solution.
Stock Up on Sun Protection
No one likes getting sun burned, but that shouldn’t keep you inside this summer. Mountain Hardwear has just released new Broad Spectrum Protection apparel to block both UVA and UVB rays from ruining your well-earned outdoor time. Collaborating with the Skin Cancer Foundation their Spring 2025 collection includes an all new Sun Shield Hoody (Men’s and Women’s) and updated favorites with this broad spectrum protection.
More Space to Ski in Colorado
Despite the absolute plethora of skiing options littering the i70 corridor in Colorado, there seems to still be room to grow. White River National Forest has green lit an expansion to Copper Mountain which would add over 500 skiable acres to the current 3,600 acre property. Also planned with the expansion are upgrades to existing lifts as well as 6 brand new lifts including one that will be the highest in North America. More expansion plans are likely in the coming years, but this is sure to get skiers excited for coming seasons.
Solar Powered Light For All
Biolite has announced they’re expanding their line of solar-integrated outdoor lighting essentials to include the much loved Luci Lanterns and String Lights, following their acquisition of MPOWERD last year. The Luci Original ($29.95) is the perfect light to cozy up in your tent with, while being waterproof, and collapsing to just 1in for easy packing. While the original boasts a 24hour run time, you can also check out the Luci Charge 150 ($49.95) or 360 ($59.95) for 50-110 hours of runtime, perfect for multiple days off grid. For lighting the whole campsite, snag some Solar String Lights ($79.95) for a picture perfect set up, without the hassle of batteries.
