This country is home to some seriously amazing farmer’ markets, and visiting these is a fantastic way to get a peek into the culture of a place. Not only that, you’ll also get to taste some of the local foods and support the local farmers and business people.
Due to the urban locations of some of these markets, your best bet may be to pilot the tow- or dinghy vehicle—or even call an Uber. But these favorite farmers markets are well worth the extra effort. So go ahead, get fresh, and add a couple of these to your next travel route for a new and fun way to spice up your trip.
Union Square Greenmarket
New York City, New York
New York City plays host to some of the best attractions in the country, but not many people think to visit the farmer’s market while they’re there. This is a shame because Manhattan’s Union Square Greenmarket is a wonderful market that has been a staple in the community since 1976. With over 140 regional farmers, fishers, and bakers, this market offers a huge variety of goods, including some of the best produce in the state.
Where to Stay
The best place to park your RV while visiting NYC is Liberty Harbor RV Park. This RV park is located just across the water from the Big Apple, meaning you can take a ferry into the city. It is a bit cramped, but does offer full hookups.
Pike Place Market
Seattle, Washington

This market is famous for fishmongers tossing salmon through the air, but that is far from the only thing you’ll find here. From farm-fresh vegetables to locally made jams, jellies, and honeys, this historic market truly has something for everyone. I recommend setting aside an entire morning to explore this amazing market.
Where to Stay
We recommend staying at Tall Chief RV and Camping Resort while visiting Seattle. While this campground is about 15 miles outside of the city, the bus ride into the city is a cinch and the campground itself is lovely, with loads of amenities and plenty of greenery.
Dane County Farmers Market
Madison, Wisconsin
Located in Madison, Wisconsin, the Dane County Farmers Market is the largest producer-only farmers market in the country. This means that every single thing sold at the market is grown or made by a local vendor, making this an extra-special place to shop.
Some of the best things to buy at this market include organic produce, cheese curds, and fresh flowers, and because the market moves indoors during the cold months, you can shop all year long.

Our favorite place to stay when visiting Madison is William G. Lundy Lake Farm County Park. This is a well-manicured campground that offers electric hookups, potable water, a dump station, restrooms with showers, and easy access to everything the city has to offer.
Ferry Plaza Farmers Market
San Francisco, California
Offering a stunning view of the bay, San Francisco’s Ferry Plaza Farmers Market is a wonderful place to immerse yourself in the culture of the city. Renowned for its high-quality produce and artisanal products, the market is a favorite for both chefs and foodies. It is open three days a week and offers everything from exotic fruit to sustainably caught seafood to cooking demonstrations, making it an entertaining spot for everyone.

When in San Francisco, we recommend staying at San Francisco RV Resort. The park itself is a little cramped, but the location really can’t be beat, as it is just a quick drive into the city and offers amazing views of the ocean. Additionally, the park offers full hookups, bathhouses, and a laundry room.
Santa Fe Farmers Market
Santa Fe, New Mexico
It should come as no surprise that the adorable and community-focused town of Santa Fe, New Mexico, has an amazing farmers market. This gorgeous market showcases the agricultural offerings of the high desert, offering chilis, blue corn, and apricots among other types of produce.
Because sustainability is a focus here, most products are organic and pesticide-free. This is a wonderful spot to dive into New Mexico’s rich culture and support the locals.
Where to Stay
Roadrunner RV Park is one of the best spots to stay while visiting Santa Fe. Really, the park isn’t much to write home about, but it is located just a few miles outside of town, meaning it’s easy to check out the local attractions. It also offers full hookups so you can stay in complete comfort.

Virginia is an absolutely perfect place for farming. It offers fertile soil as well as a long growing season, meaning the state is home to some amazing produce. Because of this, the Charlottesville City Market in Virginia is a wonderful place to visit.
Not only can you pick up some incredible fruits and vegetables at this market, you’ll also find some lovely meats, baked goods, and handmade craft items. Grab some eggs for breakfast, beef and veggies for dinner, and a handmade soap as a gift!

We always love KOA campgrounds, and Charlottesville KOA Holiday is no exception. This is easily one of the top places to stay while visiting the city. It is well-manicured with plenty of shade, a pool, full-hookup sites, and clean bathhouses. Who could ask for anything more?
Portland Farmers Market
Portland, Oregon
As you may know, the city of Portland is particularly dedicated to sustainability and local agriculture, and this shines through at the Portland Farmers Market. This is the largest and most famous market in the city and boasts more than 200 vendors.
Offering everything from foraged mushrooms to locally made chocolates, these vendors set up shop all year round, meaning you can enjoy ever-changing local seasonal offerings and making this a spot to visit regularly.

Portland Fairview RV Park is a good pick when looking for places to stay while visiting Portland. Located just outside of the city, it is quite easy to access Portland from this park. On top of that, the campground offers amenities like full hookups, a pool, and a gym.
