Tariffs Go Into Effect Today, RVIA Eyes Industry Impacts – RVBusiness – Breaking RV Industry News

FAIRFAX, Va. – Speaking at the White House on Monday (March 3) afternoon, President Trump said there was “no room left for Mexico or for Canada” to negotiate on the new import duties and confirmed that the 25% tariff on Mexico and Canada will go into effect today (March 4), according to an RV Industry Association (RVIA) News and Insights article.
Trump is also imposing an additional 10% tariff on imports from China.
Additionally, the President issued executive orders over the weekend deferring the elimination of de minimis treatment for goods from Canada and Mexico that are subject to International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) tariffs pending notification by the Secretary of Commerce that “adequate systems are in place to fully and expeditiously process and collect tariff revenue applicable.” These orders provide the same delay for de minimis shipments that was previously granted for de minimis shipments from China that are subject to the IEEPA tariffs.
The RVIA government affairs team continues to engage with members of Congress and the administration on the potential impact to the RV industry.
