Tampa Bay Summer RV Show Attracts More Than 7,600

TAMPA, Fla. – The Tampa Bay Summer RV Show enjoyed the second-best crowd in the history of the show with over 7,600 people attending the four-day event at the Florida State Fairgrounds, according to Florida RV Trade Association Executive Directory Dave Kelly.

Six area RV dealers came together and filled the Expo and Entertainment Halls with every type of RV on the market. “We even had dealers outside in the front and back of the halls,” said Patty Flanagan, show director. “All the dealers I talked to reported brisk sales and a lot of interest from those that didn’t buy at the show.”

“The crowds have been incredible,” said Dennis Charon from Lazy Days. “a lot of younger families are looking into RVing as a travel option which is great for the future. They have done their homework as they are coming in and asking for specific units. We were very pleased with the crowds this week, this continues to be a very important show for us.”

LazyDays RV Center, as well as Gerzeny’s RV World, General RV Center, Blue Compass, North Trail, Village RV and even the local RAM Truck dealer, took part in this year’s show – which attracted good crowds every day of the show.

More than 300 new RV units were on display, the show filled both the Expo and Entertainment Halls and the outside of both buildings. Fifty booths featured many aftermarket products and also campgrounds and resorts, glass replacement companies, RV awnings and solar products. The region also donated a booth to the Southeastern Guide Dogs, an organization that trains dogs to guide the visually impaired.

The show also took advantage of National Go RVing Day on Saturday and had the local Fox News 13 station at the show. “Matt Marlatt from General RV did a great job not only showing off a variety of RVs but also got to mention National Go RVing Day and the station even had that on the bottom of the screen the entire time,” Kelly said. “I have to think because of the job the Go RVing staff does to promote this day is why we had so much interest again this year.”

Entertainment at the show included DJ Mike Ryan spinning the tunes, Fritzy strolling through the crowd with juggling, stilt-walking and characters like Charlie Chaplin. There was also face-painting for the kids free of charge, the release stated.
