State RV Association Hosts Indiana Legislators for Plant Tours

The Indiana Manufactured Housing Association-Recreation Vehicle Indiana Council (IMHA-RVIC) hosted seven state legislators Sept. 15 for tours of several RV production facilities in Northern Indiana. The seven state legislators, along with IMHA-RVIC Executive Director Ron Breymier and Director of RVs Matt Rose, visited the Clayton Homes facility in Wakarusa, followed by a tour at Forest River’s Rockwood/Flagstaff RV plant in Millersburg.

“We rely on our state legislators to work on our behalf as we promote and protect the RV, manufactured housing and private campground industries. Plant tours are the most impactful – and enjoyable – way to introduce and educate our legislators to our industries,” stated IMHA-RVIC officials.  “These legislators were interested in learning more about our industries, and we were able to show them first-hand the construction of manufactured homes and mid-size travel trailers.”

Five of our seven elected officials saw these manufacturing facilities for the first time. Participating in the day’s events were:

  • State Representative Doug Miller (R-Elkhart), co-chair of the Indiana Housing Task Force, and also Chair of the House Government and Regulatory Reform Committee
  • State Representative Tim O’Brien (R-Evansville)
  • State Representative Joanna King (R-Middlebury) Member of House Employment, Labor and Pensions Committee
  • State Representative Jack Jordan (R-Bremen)
  • State Representative Peggy Mayfield (R-Martinsville), Vice Chair of House Public Policy Committee
  • State Representative Tim Wesco (R- Osceola)
  • State Senator Mike Gaskill (R-Anderson), member of the Insurance and Financial Institutions Committee

IMHA-RVIC officials thanked Jason Mickley and the team at Clayton Homes as well as John Stringer and Brett Doberenz with Forest River for coordinating and hosting the tours.
