Starcraft’s GSL Light Duty is a Fifth-Wheel Built for Everyone
If you’ve always wanted a fifth-wheel but were put off by the need for a large tow vehicle, Starcraft has just the model for you. The new GSL Light Duty has plenty of features and amenities and an expansive and open floorplan. Best of all, it is light enough to be towed by a half-ton pickup and has a price tag that is easy on the wallet too.
At 27’ 5” in length at weighing in at just 6,910 pounds, the GSL Light Duty is one of the lightest fifth-wheels on the market. At that weight, it is easily towed behind a Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado, Dodge Ram, or similar half-ton pickup. The trailer’s approachable size also makes it an excellent choice for RVers looking for a nimble, easy-to-maneuver model to take on their camping adventures.
The trailer utilizes TuffShell vacuum-bonded laminated construction and a reinforced heavy-duty fiberglass and aluminum frame to keep weight to a minimum while maintaining durability. It comes with a four-point auto leveling system, a low-maintenance PVC roofing membrane, and triple-sealed slide-outs and corners to ensure comfort at the campsite. It comes equipped for 50-amp shore power service, a 2” receiver hitch, electric brakes, and support for up to three 20 lb. propane tanks.
Starcraft ships the GSL Light Duty with a range of standard equipment and luxury features, including hardwood cabinet doors, flush floor slides, and energy-saving LED lighting throughout. The trailer’s well-appointed kitchen has a microwave, refrigerator, three-burner convection stove, and a stainless steel sink with a residential high-rise faucet. Other amenities include a JBL® Bluetooth sound system, an HDTV, a queen-sized bed, and a power awning with built-in lighting.
The GSL Light Duty is built for an extended camping season. The fifth-wheel ships with a 15,000 BTU roof-mounted AC unit and a high-performance furnace that provides heat to the enclosed underbelly. Double-insulated baggage doors, reflective foil insulation in the ceiling and floor, and foam insulation in the sidewalls ensure comfortable temperatures throughout the year. Even the trailer’s theater seating comes with integrated heating.
Optional upgrades include dual 200-watt solar panels paired with an 1800-watt inverter, a built-in grill, and a second AC unit. New owners can also opt to add a second TV to the bedroom, observation cameras, a Wi-Fi router, and several other quality-of-life upgrades.
The Starcraft GSL Light Duty comfortably sleeps four and has a starting price of $55,493. For more information, visit the company’s website.
