Staffing Woes Seen at National Parks Ahead of Busy Season – RVBusiness – Breaking RV Industry News

FAIRFAX, Va. – Recent reports indicate that federal employee firings and hiring freezes are impacting the National Park Service (NPS) as the busy season approaches, according to a report on the RV Industry Association News and Insights page.
The Trump administration recently fired federal employees on probationary status, affecting thousands of staffers nationwide, including those at the Department of Interior, which oversees the NPS.
Congressional Democrats have warned Interior Secretary Doug Burgum that these combined impacts could further strip the park workforce ahead of the busy season. They are urging the administration to reconsider these decisions and take steps to ensure that national parks are adequately staffed to meet the needs of visitors and protect park resources.
- It is important to note that this is an ongoing situation, and the full impacts of these decisions are not yet known.
The RV Industry Association, in coordination with our partners at the Outdoor Recreation Roundtable, are continuing to advocate with the Department of the Interior and Congress to make sure public land agencies have the resources they need to welcome RVers and outdoor enthusiasts.
