SSI: Retail Sales Totaled 24,583 in October, Down 16.7% – RVBusiness – Breaking RV Industry News

RV Business

There were 24,583 retail RV registrations in October 2023, a decrease of 4,950 units, or 16.7%, compared to the 29,533 units recorded in the same month the previous year, according to Statistical Surveys Inc., the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based provider of industry data.

Year-to-date, there have been 342,381 retail RV registrations through October, which is 16.4% less (67,424 units) than the 409,805 units recorded in the same timeframe in 2022.

For comparison, the RV Industry Association (RVIA) reported there were 28,371 wholesale shipments in October 2023, which is 3,788 units more than the 24,583 retail sales figure.

Year to date, RV shipments are at 266,492 units, which is 75,889 less than the 342,381 retail sales total through October.

UNITED STATES

Travel Trailers – 15,056 units in October 2024 (vs. 18,162 units in October 2022; a decrease of 17.1%). Market share leaders: THOR Industries Inc., (39.2%), Forest River Inc. (37.5%), Grand Design RV Co. (8.0%).
