SSI: Retail Registrations at 34,831 in April, Down 9.8% YOY – RVBusiness – Breaking RV Industry News
There were 34,831 retail registrations recorded in April 2024, which is a 9.8% decline compared to the 38,628 total in April 2023, according to Statistical Surveys Inc., the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based sub subsidiary of Trader Interactive that monitors retail and consumer data for the RV industry.
Year to date, there have been 110,796 retail registrations in 2024, which is a 10.4% decrease versus the 123,720 total for the same period in 2023.
For comparison, the RV Industry Association (RVIA) reported 34,197 wholesale shipments in April 2024 and 120,138 units shipped year to date.
UNITED STATES
Travel Trailers – 21,412 in April 2024 (vs. 23,781 in April 2023, a 10.0% decrease). Market share leaders: Forest River Inc. (40.3%), THOR Industries Inc. (40.1%), Grand Design RV Co. (6.2%).
Fifth-Wheels – 5,122 (5,750, -10.9%). Market share leaders: THOR (40.7%), Forest River (27.2%), Grand Design (15.6%).
Camping Trailers – 477 (668, -28.6%). Market share leaders: Forest River (61.2%), Aliner (16.4%), Purple Line LLC (5.7%).
Park Model RVS – 372 (192, +93.8%). Market share leaders: Skyline Champion (43.5%), Forest River (13.2%), Kropf Mfg. Co. (12.6%).
Class A – 685 (876, -21.8%). Market share leaders: THOR (47.4%), Forest River (19.0%), Newmar Corp. (15.5%).
