Space Station RV Park: Camping That’s Out of This World!
Many RVers travel across the country, and some even take voyages to other countries around the globe. But if you really want to reach for the stars, you’ll need a campground that’s out of this world. Enter Space Station RV Park!
This cozy RV park is close to Area 51, an extraterrestrial hotspot that attracts enthusiasts of all kinds. There are plenty of space-themed experiences in the region, ranging from historical to entertaining to downright bizarre. If you’re looking for the perfect spot in the area, Space Station RV Park is a great place to park your spaceship … er, RV.
In addition to the fun local attractions, this campground offers a nice quiet place to stay. It’s warm year-round, small enough to be cozy, and offers all the essentials you need for your desert camp out. So regardless of whether you’re seeking an alien encounter or just a peaceful RV park, this could be the perfect place for you.
Overview
Space Station RV Park is located at 400 US-95 Beatty, Nevada. This small town is a little less than two hours from Las Vegas. So you can easily visit the big city during your visit, but you’re still far enough away to have plenty of breathing room.
The famous Area 51 is also in the vicinity, but visitors can only camp on the outskirts. There are no towns right next to this outpost, so a campground in the city of Beatty is about as close as most people can get. But that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on all the fun! The surrounding areas certainly celebrate this unique attraction, and they receive a small stream of tourists every year.
As for Space Station RV Park, it doesn’t go overboard with its theming. At the end of the day, their primary goal is to provide a relaxing campground, not an extraterrestrial experience.
In fact, this little RV park is a pillar of the community, serving as a stopping point for travelers and locals alike. Tourists can stop by for information about local attractions and pick up some free coffee to fuel their adventures. Water refills and a dump station access are also available for a small fee. A small market is also on-site, serving as one of the only places in town to pick up fresh produce and groceries.
Space Station RV Park is quite small, with only 24 sites available for reservation. A few primitive tent sites are available as well, but most people prefer RV camping here due to the hookups. Access to water and electricity are vital when camping in the desert! Each RV site has full hookups, so you don’t need to worry about missing out.
The rates are reasonable here, too. Nightly rates for RV sites start at just $27.50. There are also special plans for weekly and monthly visits. If you decide to turn this park into your home base, you will be welcomed with open arms!

Amenities

In terms of amenities, the Space Station RV Park is fairly simple. It doesn’t claim to be a luxurious resort, but it still covers all the essentials. If you’re looking for a campsite that will provide peace and quiet, as well as a few perks, you’ll be happy with the experience here.
For starters, there are full hookups at every site, providing every RV camper with water, sewage connections, and electricity (either 20 or 30 amps). There is also a dump station on-site if you need to empty out your RV before you move on to your next adventure.
Showers and restrooms are also available to every guest, so you don’t have to solely rely on your small RV bathroom during your stay. Laundry machines will help keep your clothes fresh and clean as well. And if you run low on propane, you can always top off at the campground’s refill station.
Enjoy some delicious campground cooking at the picnic tables or the community barbecue and grill. Wi-Fi and decent cell phone service is also available throughout the park, so you can stay connected to your friends both near and far.
In addition, creatures of all shapes and sizes are welcome here! So whether you found a cute alien critter or just want to take your dog for a walk, all are welcome at this pet-friendly campground.
This region of Nevada also enjoys some of the best, darkest night skies in the country. Because it’s such a remote area, far away from major cities, there is little to no light pollution here. You can get a great view of the stars at night, and even spot a passing UFO if you’re lucky!
Nearby Activities/Attractions
Although you can’t actually tour Area 51 (for the safety of humans and aliens alike) there is still plenty of extraterrestrial fun to be had in the area! And if you’re looking for something a bit closer to home, that can be arranged as well.
There are hotspots of alien activity scattered all around Nevada. Some have even mapped them out into a road trip called the Extraterrestrial Highway. This spans for hundreds of miles and covers all kinds of attractions, pitstops, and themed experiences.
We don’t have time to cover the entire route here, but feel free to tour the Alien Research Center, grab a road snack at E.T. Fresh Jerky, and learn about the history of astronaut training at the Lunar Crater.
Aliens aren’t the only interesting thing in this area. When you camp at Space Station RV Park, you’ll also be close to the famous Death Valley. This region is a natural wonder, full of wildlife and strange desert plants. There are trails for hiking, biking, and rock climbing, or you can take scenic drives to enjoy the park from the comfort of your air conditioned vehicle!
Las Vegas is also just a short hop away. Here, you’ll find endless options for live entertainment, casinos, restaurants, and unique shopping centers. If the small-town camping is starting to feel a bit too isolating, you can always spend a fun day in the big city.
There are also several alien-centric attractions in Vegas too, so don’t miss out on attractions like Area 15 (an immersive art and entertainment complex) or take an adventure tour to just outside the real deal, Area 51. The truth is out there!
Reviews

Finally, it’s time to check out some reviews. Because this campground is so small and remote, it hasn’t received too many reviews over the years. But the ones that were left were largely positive!
On RV LIFE Campgrounds, it has received a respectable score of 7.7/10. Most guests ranked it as a”Good” park, stating that it met their needs, but wasn’t anything too fancy. It’s certainly one of the most highly ranked parks in Nevada once you get outside of the Las Vegas area.
On Google Reviews, it has an even higher ranking, sitting at 4.3/5 stars. Guests reported peaceful stays, and many people liked the opportunity to shop at the on-site market. Whether visitors stayed for the night or just stopped as they passed through the town, the Space Station RV Park left a good impression.
It’s true that you may not see aliens when you stay here, but you’ll still have a camping experience that’s out of this world!
