South Bend RV Show Ready for Weekend at Century Center – RVBusiness – Breaking RV Industry News
SOUTH BEND — The 49th annual Valley RV & Camping Show kicks off today and runs through Sunday Century Center downtown.
The indooor show will feature nearly 60 units from five dealers, said Matt Rose, director of recreational vehicles for the IMAC-RVIC, which organizes the show.
Rose was upbeat about the prospects for the show, despite a couple of curveballs being thrown by Mother Nature.
Gray skies and cold temps will greet show-goers today, he said, with a winter storm predicted for Friday possibly dropping six inches of snow on South Bend.
Rose hopes the South Bend crowd won’t be scared off.
“They’re tough. They’re used to it. Real RVers and people who are used to it, I don’t think it will deter them,” he said.
Dealer sentiment also has been positive so far, he said.
“The dealers who are here are all looking forward to a good show,” Rose said. “Everybody knows that things might be a little slower, but they also know that they’re still going to see more people than they would at on their lot on Jan. 12. They’re optimistic. They’re looking forward to a crowd.”
There are strong incentives for buyers, as well, as units are priced 20% to 25% below MSRP and a wide variety of types and sizes of RVs will be on display.
Vendors will include campgrounds and RV parks.
The show is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Jan. 11-13 and from noon to 5 p.m. Jan. 14. Tickets cost $10 for adults and are free for ages 15 and younger.
