Skyline Champion Opens New Plant in North Carolina

TROY, Mich. – Skyline Champion Corporation, one of the largest producers of manufactured and modular housing and the largest producer of park model RVs in the U.S., is opening a park model plant in Laurinburg, N.C., according to a press release from the company.

This park model facility is now which is now open and building the company’s Athens Park brand of park model RVs. Dick Grymonprez, Skyline director for park model sales is preparing for a high production opportunity.

“I am so excited for us to be bringing our popular Athens Park floor plans and designs to the southeastern part of the U.S.,” Grymonprez said. “In the past, we had to ship this area of the country from our Mansfield, Texas,  or Leola, Pa., plant. Now, we will be able to save our customers time and money by building them locally.”

The plant will be building a complete line of park model RVs including cottages and cabins with lofts, bunks and porches.

“Our plan is to work with a few good retailers in North Carolina as well as the surrounding states,” Grymonprez said. “We will also be building for the rental market with our campground and community partners.”
