RVLove’s Marc, Julie Bennett Celebrate Decade on the Road – RVBusiness – Breaking RV Industry News
RVLove, the beloved resource for RV enthusiasts, is celebrating a remarkable milestone: 10 years of RVing. Since hitting the road as full-time RVers in the summer of 2014, Julie and Marc Bennett, the couple behind RVLove, have traversed all 50 states, driven over 100,000 miles, owned five RVs, two cars plus a truck, and racked up more adventures than they can count. As bestselling RV authors and educators helping others hit the road and thrive, Marc and Julie just published a comprehensive report on a decade of RVing trends, changes, and the future of RVing at their website RVLove.com, with insights from RV industry and camping experts.
Transformation from Hobby to Essential Resource
The Bennetts embarked on their full-time RV journey in June 2014 in a Class A gas motorhome. Balancing remote work and travel, they shared their experiences and insights through their blog RVLove.com, YouTube channel, and social media, offering real-world advice and practical tips to thousands of RVers and aspiring RVers along the way. They full-timed for over six years before transitioning to part-time RVing in 2020, showcasing the differences in RVing styles and experiences in nearly every type of RV.
What began as a hobby blog evolved into a vital resource for the RV community. In 2017, they launched RVSuccess School, the first online school for RVers. The following year, they were approached by Adams Media, a division of Simon & Schuster, to write “Living the RV Life: Your Ultimate Guide to Life on the Road,” a comprehensive guide for aspiring full-time RVers. In 2021, they published “RV Hacks: 400+ Ways to Make Life on the Road Easier, Safer, and More Fun!”. Each book has sold more than 25,000 copies, and over 1,000 online reviews.
RV industry expert, Bob Zagami, congratulated the Bennetts on their 10-year milestone, saying: I have had the pleasure of working with you two on many occasions as you earned the respect and love of RVers who purchased your two best-selling books and read every word of your incredible blogs and resources.”
Pioneers of RV Education
In response to the surge of new “COVID campers” in 2020, the Bennetts organized the first Hit the Road RV Summit, attracting over 4,000 attendees and featuring expert speakers. The following year, the summit drew over 6,000 attendees, eager to learn about thriving in the RV lifestyle.
Bob Zagami added “Many of the new RVers found comfort, education, and even fun as they were introduced to ‘The Bennetts’ and all they have done for the RV industry.”
Host of the RV Game Changer podcast, Bernie Culliton noted, “Julie and Marc were great students and turned into even better teachers. That is an amazing accomplishment.”
Innovative and Genuine Content
Marc and Julie of RVLove are known for their integrity, honesty, and down-to-earth approach. They avoid drama content designed for cheap clicks and views, and instead focus on delivering genuine, quality information that helps RVers. Their innovation is evident in unique projects, from renovating a 1999 Country Coach (off-grid) into the ultimate home and office on wheels; to setting fire to an RV in collaboration with the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control for educational purposes; and creating comprehensive guides on essential RV topics.
Some of RVLove’s most popular content includes:
- A comprehensive series of articles about Thousand Trails
- The Ultimate RV Makeover YouTube series
- “Where RVs Go to Die” – a viral visit to an RV salvage yard
- Best Cars to Tow Behind an RV
- The Best RV Internet Solutions
- Understanding RV Extended Warranties
- Important safety topics like RV weight, tire safety, and fire safety
Julie Bennett explained their approach: “For us, content creation has always been a marathon, not a sprint. Producing accurate, high-quality material takes a lot of time, and we’re proud of the body of work we’ve shared through RVLove. While it’s not easy keeping up with the latest changes – with RVing, Google, AI, and social media – we know that our decade-long dedication to creating quality, in-depth content that genuinely helps RVers, pays off in the long run.”
Industry Recognition and Impact
With over 100,000 members across their online communities, RVLove has built a loyal following. Marc and Julie have appeared at major RV shows and events, shared insights with media outlets like The New York Times, Forbes, NPR, Insider.com, The Wall Street Journal, Lonely Planet, and Frommer’s, and been featured on almost every RV-related podcast multiple times.
Over the years, the Bennetts have conducted over 20 RV factory tours and hosted the 2022 RV Business RV of the Year Awards. They completed a full off-grid RV renovation in less than a month, which was featured as a finalist in Apartment Therapy’s Small/Cool Spaces Contest. They also appeared in two seasons of “The RVers” TV show and the “RV Nomads” movie.
Sandy Ellingson, Founder and CEO of The Hub for RVers, remarked: “Marc and Julie have been a steady, reliable presence in the RV community. Their commitment to providing valuable content – sharing real-life experiences and practical advice – has made a significant impact on the lives of many RVers’.”
Future Directions: Simplifying and Innovating
The RVing landscape has changed significantly over the past decade, and so have the Bennetts. With advancements in technology, their next natural progression is to simplify, consolidate, and harness innovations that make RV life easier, save time, and reduce costs.
“Now is an ideal time to take a step back and review everything from the past decade, and ask how we can do it differently, how we can make it better,” explained Marc Bennett. “From the immense body of work we’ve created, to the evolution of RVs and the lifestyle, and many new technologies, we’re curious and excited about the changes that lie ahead – for RVLove and the RV community. Watch this space!”
One thing that won’t change, is that as trusted, consistent resources in the RV community, Julie and Marc will continue to provide drama-free, high-quality information that RVers can rely on.
Bob Zagami concluded “Thank you for what you have done for the RV and Outdoor Hospitality industries. We look forward to what Marc and Julie Bennett bring in the next decade. I am very confident that RVLove will continue to be a trusted resource for new and experienced RVers.”
