Agenda

  • Noon: Lunch
  • 12:30pm: Engagement
    • This powerful segment utilizes an organizational simulation to highlight the value of collaboration in creating long-term success. Out of the exercise, participants identify and discuss opportunities within their organization to break down the barriers of communication between safety and operations. By discussing real situations and challenges facing the organization, the participants start to connect the content of the program to their everyday world.
  • 2:00pm: Break
  • 2:15pm: Results: Values and Behaviors
    • Leadership is the ability to influence others. This influence is based on clear expectations and effective leadership behaviors. In this module, we will connect our core beliefs with safety leadership and how we communicate these values and standards to others. Then, we will look at leadership behaviors so to understand how a behavior that influences effectively with one person in one situation may be extremely ineffective with the same person in a different situation.
  • 3:00pm: Listening
    • The first step in determining someone’s needs is listening. Here we look at what gets in the way of being an effective listener as well as practicing effective listening skills. This module also helps in understanding how we can use listening skills to make better decisions and initiate collaborative problem solving to address safety issues.
  • 4:00pm: Happy Hour and Networking

Who should attend: Plant leadership and anyone involved in workplace safety will benefit from the sessions and conversation.
