RVIA Announces Jason Rano as VP of Government Affairs
Jason Rano, a senior government relations executive with over 18 years of experience directing, creating and implementing successful legislative and regulatory initiatives at the local, state and federal levels, will join the RV Industry Association as vice president of government affairs, effective today (Jan. 3), according to a press release.
The position, a leadership role for the RV Industry Association reporting to President and CEO Craig Kirby, is responsible for the management of six staff positions and multiple outside consultants with an overall mission to promote and protect the RV Industry Association member interests in state and federal legislation and regulations.
“Jason’s proven track record of success building bipartisan coalitions and engaging with administration officials, members of Congress, Congressional staff, committees and key partners and stakeholders, make him the ideal leader for the RV industry’s efforts to move policy objectives on Capitol Hill and in state legislatures across the country,” said Kirby. “I couldn’t be more excited for Jason to lead the RV Industry Association’s talented and dedicated government affairs team.”
Rano comes to the RV Industry Association from Rivian, where he was the senior partnership development manager. In this role, Rano led Rivian’s efforts to deploy electric vehicle chargers on public lands through partnerships with public land agencies, non-profit partners, concessioners, utilities and others.
Prior to Rivian, Rano served as the federal executive director for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, where he developed and implemented federal legislative and regulatory strategy and messaging, including grassroots advocacy, for the largest independent conservation organization dedicated to saving the Chesapeake Bay. Rano also previously served as vice president of government relations for the National Park Foundation, where he was a trusted leader and spokesperson, cultivating relationships with members of Congress, the Department of Interior and National Park Service leadership.
“I’m thrilled to join the talented RV Industry Association team and look forward to working with the accomplished and committed government affairs team on behalf of our members in the halls of Congress and state houses across the country to ensure the industry continues to thrive,” said Rano.
Rano will work alongside current Vice President of Government Affairs Jay Landers until his retirement at the end of March 2023.
