RVC Destinations’ Advanced Campground Bookings Up 34% – RVBusiness – Breaking RV Industry News
RVC Outdoor Destinations is expected to close out 2023 with bookings up 10% and revenue up 16.35% over 2022, according to company officials.
“It has been quite the winding road for the outdoor hospitality industry over the past few years,” noted RVC Outdoor Destinations (RVC). “The road trip renaissance that was spurred through the pandemic years and catapulted RV and camping travel regressed back to the mean in 2022. Throughout 2023, travelers largely opted to hit the seas with cruise vacations or grab their passports and go international in what has been coined the year of “revenge travel,” which when paired with a series of extreme weather events and record-setting heat largely affected the camping industry.”
RVC Outdoor Destinations features a collection of 11 outdoor resorts offering travelers a wide array of lodging options.
As the outdoor hospitality industry looks ahead to 2024, there are several signals that camping and RV travel is making a strong return among domestic traveler trends.
“We are very encouraged with initial projections for 2024,” said RVC Outdoor Destinations’ President Lloyd Lauland. “Q1 2024 reservations are up 27.29% as compared to last year and while we remain optimistic, we are still keeping a very close eye on global events and the potential ramifications on the U S economy.”
RVC is reporting that advanced bookings for 2024 are outpacing 2023 by 34% for the entire year with short-term bookings continuing to hold strong. This does not include advanced bookings and pre-sales of seasonal sites at RVC’s newest location in Sandusky, Ohio, set to open in Spring 2024.
“Sandusky RV Resort is already being met with fantastic demand for its seasonal site reservations with 33% already booked, and the resort will be accepting reservations for nightly guests after the beginning of the New Year,” noted RVC officials.
