Big News From Hershey: Most of the big news from the RV industry this week came from the Hershey RV Show. More than 50,000 people will attend the event over five days, with over 1,500 RVs onsite for review. Winnebago Unveils New Solis Camper Van: Winnebago was on hand in Hershey, showing off several new models, including a new floorplan for the Class B Solis Pocket. The new 36B version of the camper van brings an innovative and versatile new dinette to the mix and a wet bath located in the vehicle’s rear. New buyers will also have the option of adding an EcoFlow power kit for off-grid camping.
Thor Shows Off New Diesel Models: Thor Motor Coach was also on hand in Hershey, unveiling several new diesel models at the show. Those include the affordable Palazzo GT and Rivera models, which offer exceptional quality and features at prices that are budget-friendly—at least by Thor standards. Travel Lite Announces Falcon 2.0: While we’re on the subject of new campers, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the relaunch of the popular Travel Lite Falcon travel trailer. The updated model will go on sale in early 2024 as the rebranded Falcon 2.0. New features include a weight-saving aluminum frame, LED lighting, a tankless on-demand water heater, and much more. Apple’s Emergency Satellite Service Partners with AAA: When Apple introduced the iPhone 14 last year, it also launched a new emergency satellite messaging service. The system allows iPhone users to send SOS messages requesting assistance even when they are traveling in places with no cell service. The feature is free for two years and has already saved the lives of several people. Earlier this week, the tech giant announced the service is now expanding through a partnership with AAA, allowing iPhone owners to request roadside assistance in remote places.
Encore RV Launches New VENÚ Line of Travel Trailers: More news from Hershey this week, where Encore RV has announced a new line of travel trailers under the VENÚ branding. The first of these models is the 10KB—a small travel trailer designed to deliver a high-quality product that exceeds owners expectiations. According to RV Pro, that towable will officially debut at the end of the month at the Open House Week in Elkhart, IN.
RVshare Announces “Campers’ Choice” Award Winners: RVshare—which is an online community for RV owners and renters—has shared its 2023 Campers’ Choice award winners. After taking hundreds of nominations from its user base, the company has compiled the results and is handing out its annual “campie” awards in a variety of categories like “best family-friendly campground” and “Best National Park Campground.
