RV News: Two New Adventure Trailers, Thor Announces Updates for 2025 Diesel Pusher Updates, and Much More
Happy Friday, everyone. Welcome to this week’s edition of our RV and camping news round-up. Here are the latest happenings within that space that you may find interesting:
- The Karoo Adventure Camper is an Innovative New Towable: A company from Finland called Karoo has revealed a unique and innovative new towable. The Karoo Adventure Camper weighs less than 1,600 lbs. and is incredibly aerodynamic, making it a great option for towing behind an EV. It also comes with an astounding 6kWh of energy storage, factor-installed solar panels, a pull-out kitchen, and a cleverly integrated bathroom with a shower. The vehicle can be controlled using a smartphone app and serves as a toy hauler, all for a starting price of around $32,000. The trailer isn’t scheduled to start shipping until 2026, however, and no word on whether or not it will come stateside. Check out the Karoo website for more information.
- Outdoorsy Announces Finalist for ‘America’s Best Summer Job’: A few weeks back, we told you about how Outdoorsy—the online platform for renting RVs—was looking to fill “America’s Best Summer Job.” Essentially, the company was looking for influencers and social media stars to help promote its brand, while in turn, it would pay the winners $20,000 for a 30-day cross-country trip visiting up to ten national parks. After accepting video submissions from hundreds of people, the list of applicants has been narrowed down to just six. You can check out those still in the running and watch their videos here.
- Gulf Stream Intros First Class C Conquest Built on Ford Transit Chassis: Gulf Stream has debuted its first Conquest Class C model built on the Ford Transit platform. This gives the popular motorhome reliable and economical underpinnings that are more approachable than some of the larger models that utilize the Ford F53 chassis. This week, the company told RV Business that the new Conquest Transit editions would carry a starting price of around $120,000, which makes them very competitively priced. The smaller size is also aimed at RVers who are looking to leave the towable space and move into the motorhome category. Read more about these new models here.
- New Towable Brand Debuts First Model: A company called Exodus Rigs has revealed its first RV model—a pop-up towable with some interesting new features. The trailer is called the Capax, and it’s designed to pull double duty as a camper and cargo hauler. When collapsed down, it easily fits into most garages, but at the campsite, it transforms into a comfortable camper with room to sleep up to five. Standout features include four solar panels, a 400Ah house battery, touchscreen controls, and both an indoor and outdoor kitchen. Pricing starts at $120,000.
- Thor Shares 2025 Class A Diesel Pusher Updates: It is that time of year again. The time when all of the major RV manufacturers share the latest updates for their various vehicles for the coming year. This week, Thor kicked things off by announcing the changes coming to its line of Class A diesel pushers. Upgrades include a new Winegard ConnecT 5.0 system—with a Wi-Fi router, 5G hotspot, and TV antenna—now coming standard on all models. The 2025 Aria also gets an Aqua-Hot 250D hydronic furnace as standard equipment, while the 2025 Palazzo GT 37.4 floorplan now comes with power reclining theater seating with built-in footrests and USB charging ports. Finally, the Silver Fox paint scheme is available across the entire line-up, which also includes pop-up wireless and USB charging ports for convenient access to power.
- Owl Vans Becomes Official Partner of Mercedes Benz: Camper van accessories manufacturer Owl Vans has become an official partner with Mercedes Benz. The announcement came earlier this week after Mercedes rigorously tested the company’s extensive line of products, which include everything from bike carriers and ladders to lighting and skid plates. The partnership demonstrates the quality of Owl Vans products while also reminding us of the continued growth in popularity of Class B models.
- National Go RVing Day a Success: As reported in last week’s news round-up, Saturday, June 8, was the third annual National Go RVing Day. The idea behind the quasi-event was to draw attention to the RV industry and the benefits and experiences that come with camping. It appears that idea is paying off, as according to RVIA (the RV Industry Association), more than more than four million people saw local and national news segments discussing RV camping. That’s viewed as a big win in helping raise awareness of the RV lifestyle.
- Caravan Salon RV Show Expands in Size: The world’s largest RV show is getting even bigger. This year, Europe’s annual Caravan Salon takes place between August 30 and September 8 in its usual location in Dusseldorf, Germany. While the show has always been big, in 2024, it expands further in size, covering nearly 2.7 million square feet across 16 exhibit halls. That’s a new record for the show, which hosts over 235,000 people each year. In contrast, the Hershey RV Show in Pennsylvania—which bills itself as “America’s Largest”—gets about 60,000 attendees each year.
Those are the big headlines from this past week. Join us again next Friday for all of the important news from the RV space.
