RV News: Leisure Travel Vans Anniversary Edition, New RVs from Thor, Ember, Winnebago, and More

The 2024 Florida RV Supershow is taking place this week in Tampa, which means it is one of the busiest weeks of the year for RV news. There is a lot to cover, so let’s dive right in.

  • Leisure Travel Vans Celebrates Milestone with Special Anniversary Package: 2024 marks the 60th anniversary of Triple E RV, the parent company of Leisure Travel Vans. To celebrate, the company is offering a special edition Anniversary Edition Package with some unique features, like 60th-anniversary badging, exclusive design and decor upgrades, and elevated captain’s chairs in the cockpit. Catch a glimpse of those features here. Additionally, LTV has introduced a new leisure lounge option that integrates a corner bed into its Unity model. Check it out here.
  • Thor Debuts New RVs in Tampa: Thor Motor Coach has been especially busy at the Florida Supershow this week. The RV manufacturer unveiled a slew of vehicles, including new additions to its Class A and B line-ups. The Class A models on display were the Indigo DD35—which has a massive kitchen and lots of counterspace—and the Luminate MM30, which is designed with families in mind. Thor’s camper van catalog is bolstered by the arrival of the Dazzle 2HB, Palladium/Talvavera 1910, Sanctuary 19A, and Tranquility 24C floorplans. Each of those RVs brings new features to their respective models, like wet baths, improved off-road performance, and more storage.
  • Winnebago Reveals New Models, Too: Winnebago has returned to the Supershow in a big way, revealing six new models at this year’s event. Those include the brand-new View and Navion Class Cs, the all-new EKKO Sprinter, an updated Revel camper van, and the Winnebago Access and M-Series towables. Each brings updates that expand on previous capabilities. For instance, the Revel has improved extended-season camping performance and has a newly redesigned lounge area. Meanwhile, the M-Series offers three new floorplans, while the EKKO debuts on the Mercedes platform for the first time.
  • Ember RV Debuts New Floorplans: Thor and Winnebago aren’t the only ones with new RVs to show off. Ember RV is in Florida, as well, and has new floorplans on display. The company debuted new additions to its E-Series towables, including the 22MLQ, 26ETS, and 24RLD models. It also has the Overland Series 240TKR at an RV show for the first time.
  • GearJunkie Explores New Westfalia Camper Van: Last week we mentioned that Westfalia would reveal its new camper van at the Florida Supershow, giving eager fans a first look at the much anticipated vehicle. The camper is on display in Tampa this week and GearJunkie has a first look at this fun little Class B dubbed the Wave. Starting price? $155,333.
  • Campground Views Gives VR Tour of Florida Supershow: Unable to make it to Tampa to visit the Florida Supershow yourself? Are you feeling a little FOMO from following all the announcements from afar? You’re in luck, as camping technology company Campground Views has shared a VR tour of the RV show. The interactive video provides a 360º panoramic view of the show floor, giving fans a chance to catch a glimpse of the happenings remotely. Best of all, the $3,500 Apple Vision Pro isn’t required.
  • Forbes Says Campground Bookings Have Spiked 500% for Solar Eclipse: If you’re planning a camping trip to watch the total solar eclipse in April, you better have your campsite already booked. According to Forbes, campgrounds located inside the “path of totality” have seen a 500% spike in bookings in preparation for the event. In other words, there is a good chance you won’t be able to get the spot you’re looking for if you didn’t reserve it months in advance. Check out our suggestions for where to go here.
  • 18,000 New Campsites Expected by 2027: We al know that booking campsites has gotten more challenging in recent years, as RV camping has seen strong growth over that period. But according to RV Business, the may be some help on the way. According to research and trends analysis, RVB says that it expects more than 18,000 new campsites to be available over the next three years. The surge comes due thanks to entrepreneurs and existing campgrounds seeing a business opportunity to serve an increasing number of RVers as interest in the lifestyle continues to grow.
  • You’ll Need a Reservation to Visit Mount Rainier National Park This Summer: You can add Mount Rainier to the growing list of national parks requiring reservations just to enter this summer. This week, the National Park Service announced that visitors entering the area through the Nisqually, Stevens Canyon, and Sunrise/White River gates would need to have a reservation during the peak hours of 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM. The new rules are in effect starting on May 24 and continuing through September 2. Reservations can be obtained at Recreation.gov and anyone without a reservation will be turned away.

That’s all for this week. Join us next Friday for another round-up of the latest happenings from the RV and camping industry.
