RiverPark Inc. Reports Acquisition of ProSpec Electronics

Mount Pleasant, S.C.-based ProSpec Electronics, a leading manufacturer and supplier of high-performance outdoor OEM and aftermarket audio solutions, has been acquired by Elkhart, Ind.-based electronics distributor RiverPark Inc.

Dave Sykes, ProSpec president, and Steve Bollero, RiverPark president, made the shared announcement in a press release.

For 10 years, ProSpec and RiverPark have enjoyed a business relationship that spurs product innovation. In addition to expanding the sales and distribution footprint focused on OEM markets, the acquisition offers many unique opportunities for both companies in new segments while strengthening leading positions in their respective core markets, the release stated.

ProSpec is now RiverPark Marine dba ProSpec Electronics; its operations and personnel remain in Mouny Pleasant, S.C. Its efforts will be supported by the sales, distribution and product development team from RiverPark’s Elkhart, Ind., headquarters.

RiverPark Inc. was founded in 1981 as a national RV distributor of mobile audio products. It now offers a full line of electronics and appliances in diverse OEM markets such as marine, RV, commercial trucks and specialty vehicles. Key partnerships with major consumer electronics companies have enabled development of unique OEM-specific products. RiverPark distributes premium brands that include Bose, Harman/JBL, Mobileye, Samsung, Sony and Xite Solutions.

ProSpec Electronics shapes how consumers listen to music outdoors by developing and introducing market-shifting audio products. With its reputation firmly established in 1986 as bringing the first true marine stereo system to market, it now offers a range of receivers, amplifiers, speakers, subwoofers, and stereo packages for boats, UTVs, golf cars and pool/spa applications. Brands it offers include Harman Kardon, JBL, Infinity and MPro as well as those from RiverPark’s extensive portfolio.
