Ranger Distributions Hosts Motivational Speaker and Dinner – RVBusiness – Breaking RV Industry News
ELKHART, Ind. – Customers, employees and friends of Ranger Distribution Inc. (RDI) gathered in the company’s Buckingham Road warehouse on the east side of Elkhart Tuesday evening for food, drinks, fellowship and inspiration.
Approximately 200 people were in attendance, ostensibly to celebrate the new 67,000-square-foot warehouse addition, completed late last year. But more importantly, the event was to give back to the community, according to company executives.
“We didn’t want to bring people here to just say, ‘Look what we did!” explained RDI Chief Revenue Officer Brent Diver. “Sticking with our company theme of offering something without any expectation in return, we thought it more appropriate to invite people to hear something they could take back with them and implement in their own business or personal lives.”
That “something” Diver refers to was international speaker and author Dave Anderson.
Describing Anderson as a “motivational speaker” doesn’t do him justice. The author of 15 – closing on 16 – books, Anderson counts over 200 RV dealerships, thousands of auto dealers, professional athletes and a wide array of businesses as his clients. His podcast “The Game Changer Life” ranks near the top on Apple, Chartable, Audacy, Spotify and other outlets and includes more than 400 episodes to date.
Anderson’s message of “elevating your excellence” was delivered to the RDI crowd in an entertaining, humorous, irreverent and thought-provoking manner throughout the 40-minute session. Clearly, the audience was involved.
RDI’s involvement with Anderson goes back nearly to the company’s founding in 2019. RDI executives pride themselves on creating an “inverted pyramid” organization with key decisions made by the employees in direct contact with customers and progressively senior management providing support and help to the customer-facing employees. Anderson’s message and learning tools help grow RDI individuals at all levels in the company, noted CEO John Curran.
Apparently, the company’s inverted organizational chart is paying off.
While the pandemic was a boon to RDI, the company continues to excel during the current slowdown as they bring on additional staff and acquire new OEM clients, explained RDI COO Rod Humphreys.
And although RV electrical components and plumbing products remain a focus, RDI is open to exploring other OEM needs. They are launching two new products: RV power cords and high-quality plastic RV toilets, with a hint of more to come.
