Raccoon Family Caught Red Handed After Babies Fall Into Home

When some tiny baby raccoons fall into your fireplace, you know something’s up. (Thankfully, there was no fire going!) Some Massachusetts homeowners unknowingly had a raccoon family living in their chimney, but the fluffy family outed themselves when the babies fell into plain sight. The homeowners called the Cape Wildlife Center for help retrieving the babies, examining them, humanely evicting the mother raccoon, and reuniting them all.

The Cape Wildlife Center posted about the raccoon rescue/eviction on Facebook, confirming that the babies weren’t injured in the fall. The team kept the babies safe and warm as they puzzled out how to safely evict the mama raccoon. After removing all family members from the chimney, the organization says it used a trail cam to monitor the raccoons as mom relocated all of her babies to a new, safer spot.
