NHTSA Releases its Most Recent Installment of RV Recalls – RVBusiness – Breaking RV Industry News
EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is the latest list of RV recalls compiled by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Per strict NHTSA protocols, manufacturers will next notify its dealer partners of the recall notice. Each notice will include details of the affected vehicles as well as the appropriate remedy.
Winnebago Industries Inc. is recalling 2,193 2021-2025 Ekko motorhomes. The solar charging system was incorrectly designed without sufficient over-current protection, which can allow the circuit to overheat and melt the fuse. The remedy is currently under development. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Sept. 13. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-3535. Winnebago’s number for this recall is 186.
Ford Motor Companyis recalling 1,902 2023-2024 Transit vehicles equipped with a Transit Trail package. The electronic power assist steering (EPAS) ground eyelet joint may experience corrosion, which can result in a loss of power steering assist. Dealers will install a new EPAS ground pigtail kit, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Aug. 5. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford’s number for this recall is 24S46.
Storyteller Overland, LLC (Storyteller Overland) is recalling three 2024 GXV Next vehicles. The Cargo Carrying Capacity listed on the certification label is incorrect, which can allow the vehicle to be overloaded. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 120, “Wheels and Rims – Other than Passenger Cars.” Storyteller Overland will mail corrected labels to owners, free of charge.
