NHTSA Releases its Most Recent Installment of RV Recalls – RVBusiness – Breaking RV Industry News

EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is the latest list of RV recalls compiled by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Per strict NHTSA protocols, manufacturers will next notify its dealer partners of the recall notice. Each notice will include details of the affected vehicles as well as the appropriate remedy.

Tiffin Motorhomes, Inc. (Tiffin) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Byway motorhomes. The secondary emergency exit in the bedroom was not installed. Dealers will replace the bedroom window with an egress window, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 12, 2024. Owners may contact Tiffin customer service at 1-256-356-8661. Tiffin’s number for this recall is TIF-139. Potential number of units affected is 42.

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Coachmen Independence Trail, 2020-2024 Viking, and 2021-2024 Clipper travel trailers. The freshwater tank may detach from the vehicle when full or overfilled. Dealers will install additional attachment straps to the tank, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 24, 2024. Owners may contact Forest River Customer Service at 1-574-825-6319. Forest River’s number for this recall is 121-177. Potential number of units affected is 2,204.

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2024 Aurora and Catalina travel trailers. The furnace may have been installed directly on top of vinyl linoleum floor, which can allow the floor to overheat. Dealers will install a panel between the furnace and the linoleum, free of charge. All affected vehicles are still in dealer inventory and therefore no owner notification letters will be mailed. Owners may contact Forest River Customer Service at 1-574-825-4995. Forest River’s number for this recall is 205-1778. Potential number of units affected is 13.

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2024 Solera, 2024-2025 Forester, and Sunseeker motorhomes. The Liquid Propane (LP) line may not be properly secured, which can cause the line to become damaged and leak. Dealers will install a p-clamp to secure the LP line, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 26, 2024. Owners may contact Forest River Customer Service at 1-574-206-7600. Forest River’s number for this recall is 34-1780. Potential number of units affected is 318.

Aluminum Trailer Company (ATC) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Toy Hauler 5th wheel trailers. The LED backlight circuit board in the cooktop range may fail, causing the board to overheat. Dealers will cut the circuit powering the LED backlights and terminate the wiring, or remove the LED backlights, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 14, 2024. Owners may contact ATC customer service at 1-877-441-2440, ext. 3422. Potential number of units affected is 398.

Prime-Time Specialty Vehicles (Prime-Time) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Ford Transit vehicles, equipped with certain GO-ES Space Saver Foldaway Seats. The recliner mechanism may not engage when the seat back is fully reclined. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 210, “Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages.” Dealers will inspect and repair the seat as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 27, 2024. Owners may contact Prime-Time customer service at 1-574-293-9191. Potential number of units affected is 9.
