National ARVC Young Professionals Plan Volunteer Event – RVBusiness – Breaking RV Industry News
The National Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds (National ARVC) Young Professionals group, with support from Leavitt Recreation and Hospitality Insurance and the ARVC Foundation, is hosting their first ever volunteer event on site at the Outdoor Hospitality Conference & Expo (OHCE2023) this November in Kansas City.
“The main goal of the National ARVC Young Professionals group is to build each other up: to be better people, better leaders, and build a better outdoor hospitality industry for the future,” Tyler Grim, YP Chair, said. ”Part of that better people and better future means serving our community to ensure it thrives alongside our industry.”
Sunday, Nov. 5, volunteers will be working with local Kansas City nonprofit Heart to Heart International to assemble hygiene kits for disaster relief efforts. The Hygiene Kit Program works to improve the health, hygiene, and sense of comfort for under-resourced persons in the United States and around the world through the creation and distribution of hygiene kits. The hygiene kit is designed to meet the immediate hygiene needs of people in crisis and is critical to prevent the spread of illness and disease. The kits provide essentials to people impacted by disaster and crises. This disaster relief effort is in alignment with the National ARVC Foundation’s disaster relief program, which distributed more than $20,000 to parks affected by natural disaster in 2022 and has already distributed $30,000 in 2023.
Heart to Heart International (HHI) is a global humanitarian organization focused on improving access to health. Since its inception in 1992, HHI has delivered medical aid and supplies worth $2.6 billion to more than 130 countries, including within the United States. HHI responds to natural disasters both domestically and internationally by supplying medical relief and mobilizing volunteers. HHI broadens access to healthcare by working with U.S. safety-net clinics and providing training, laboratory equipment, supplies and volunteers. The organization is a 4-star Charity Navigator charity, a BBB Accredited charity and is on the “Philanthropy 400.” To learn more, visit hearttoheart.org.
This event is open to all attendees at OHCE, not only young professionals. Those interested can sign up to volunteer here. This event is limited to the first 30 submissions.
