EDWARDSBURG, Mich.-Based Modern Buggy RV has partnered with Dexter and Timbren to offer its customers the smoothest and safest towing experience according to a recent media release by the company.

Earl Williams co-owner of Modern Buggy stated, “If Airstream uses as their standard offering Dexter Torflex Torsion Axles, then they are good enough for us. Dexter just makes axles and brakes. And after 60 plus years Dexter has figured out a thing or two and frankly makes them better than any other brand. Timbren Axle-less suspension takes us up to beast mode, a more extreme overlanding experience for those wanting to find Sasquatch.”

“Dexter, the trailer industry’s leading running gear supplier for over 60 years, is very pleased to partner with Modern Buggy in providing them with our Torflex axles,” explains Rich Raeder, senior account manager with Dexter Axles while visiting the plant yesterday (Aug. 1) “With Modern Buggy producing the highest level of quality teardrop trailers, using the highest quality trailer running gear available makes perfect sense. Dexter looks forward to a long-term relationship with Modern Buggy and continuing to support Modern Buggy owners after the sale with our 10 year suspension warranty.”

Chase Rhode with Field and Sports, a sales and marketing firm consulting Modern Buggy, explained the extreme market niche the company is targeting and how this tier-one supplier agreement will benefit the end user.

“Overlanding means better suspension, off-road tires, and ground clearance,” he said. “Modern Buggy has 14 inches of ground clearance standard which is higher than over 90% of the trailers out there. Dexter offers an aftermarket $100 lift kit and for less than an hour’s shop rate that a customer can add 3 inches more ground clearance. This also allows for a bigger diameter tire.”

During the sneak peek open house this week, Aug. 1-4, Andrew Hodgson, vice president of Timbren, and Shawn Cochran, senior sales manager Timbren, both made a visit to Modern Buggy RV from their headquarters in Canada.

“We at Timbren are proud to partner with Modern Buggy with our complete assembly ready to install our Level 4 Axle-less suspension which only adds about 15 pounds and improves ground clearance another 3-4 inches,” he stated.

Says Shawn Cochran, senior sales product manager with Timbren added, “With Modern Buggy’s awesome designed teardrop trailers paired with Timbren axle-less suspension, you will experience an unparalleled tow and ride quality. But don’t take my word on it, hook one up today and experience it yourself.”

The company stated that Timbren is a world leading brand in upgraded suspension. Some competitive brands add as much as 150 pounds per axle with a  bigger footprint that actually reduces a trailers ground clearance.

“We studied Axle-less suspensions from local vendors and elsewhere and none of them compare to Timbren which has been making them for over 50 years,” said Scott Rhode with Field and Sports. “At a traditional industry RV show many customers don’t really know the difference.   They see a big orange spring and think wow. Just attend an overland show, Timbren is by far and away what is most widely used and for good reason.  We are telling our customers to ‘look for the exclusive Big Blue Color for Timbren Axle-less suspension’ on Modern Buggies for a real overlanding experience.”

Privately owned and operated, Modern Buggy RV is a manufacturer of Little Buggy and Big Buggy travel trailers, Class B Vans, as well as it newly branded SkyeDen roof top tents, awnings, and other camping accessories.
