Missouri turkey hunt changes made official – Outdoor News
Jefferson City, Mo. — The Missouri Department of Conservation announced that proposed changes to its turkey seasons were approved on April 5. The changes include a reduced bag limit in the fall from four birds to two, and requirements that fall turkey hunters – both archery and firearms hunters – purchase a fall turkey permit.
Turkeys will no longer be included in the Missouri archery-deer permit.
“The changes will potentially reduce fall harvest opportunity by 50%,” said John Burk, NWTF district biologist for Missouri, Illinois and Iowa. “Fall hunters will still have the opportunity to turkey hunt for the same amount of time and will still be able to harvest two turkeys if desired.”
