Meyer Distributing Gearing Up for Jan. 10-11 Mega Show

JASPER, Ind. – Meyer Distributing, a full-line automotive, marine and RV distributor, will return Jan. 10-11 to French Lick Resort in French Lick, Ind., for the company’s annual Mega Show.

Company officials told RVBusiness that the venue, home for Meyer’s last two dealer shows, has proven popular with their customers. French Lick features historic buildings, a casino and a small-town feel. Perhaps it is best known as the home to Larry Bird.

Meyer’s Ben Johnson, category sales manager, RV Towing and Marine, expects over 90 vendors to attend and an all-time record number of dealerships. “Previously, our record was about 160 dealers. Our goal this year is to double that. I expect we will get close to 300,” he told RVBusiness.

Meyer will be holding vendor seminars at the confab for the first time, which Johnson acknowledges is a big draw. “There are colossal bonuses associated with these seminars. For some workshops, everyone that attends gets north of a thousand dollars in prizes. That’s a huge bonus,” he said.

Regarding how economic headwinds might play into the show, Johnson said, “Meyer has done nothing but grow through any economic downturns. A lot of our dealer base has also done nothing but grow through economic downturns. So we don’t expect it to be a down show by any means. In fact, as I said, we expect to have an increase in dealer attendance, sales, and vendor participation. So we’re excited about it.”

In addition to the RV aftermarket, Meyer also serves the automotive, marine, 4X4, pool, and spa industries. According to Johnson, the company offers over 1000 brands housed in more than 5 million square feet of facilities. “With 1000 vehicles on the road to serve our customers, we have a lot of market share to grow.”

Meyer Distributing has been expanding its footprint. In 2022 the company added a 170,000-square-foot warehouse in Hermiston, Oregon, to better serve the Pacific Northwest. All told, Meyer operates 13 warehouses and 86 cross-dock locations for coast-to-coast delivery in the US and Canada.
