The Michigan Association of Recreation Vehicles and Campgrounds (MARVAC) is set to host its first-ever Campground Vendor Showcase one day before the opening of Michigan’s largest RV camping show – the 58th Annual Detroit RV and Camping Show.

Slated to take place 2-6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 30, at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, MARVAC President & CEO John Lindley told RVBusiness (RVB) how excited the organization is for the event.

“This is going to be a huge value-add for our campground members and vendors,” noted Lindley. “And we are very confident attendees will agree.”

The event will include a chance for vendors to introduce their products and services to the more than 30 campground owners/operators who have signed up already. MARVAC said it has secured a dozen vendors already, but still have room for more.

“We have also created a QR option for vendors that want to take part but can’t physically be at the event that will allow them to share information about their company with participants,” Lindley added. “That information will also be printed in a book for the participants to take home with them. It will offer them a great way to still get in front of Michigan campgrounds.”

The QR code option is $199 for non-members and $49 for members. There are discounts for those taking part in the Detroit RV & Camping show as well.

Booth prices for the event sit at $199 for members and $399 for non-members. MARVAC stressed that this valuable opportunity is open to everyone, MARVAC members and non-members alike.

Besides the vendor showcase, the event will provide significant opportunity for networking and the exchange of best practices among colleagues – plus some quality information.

“We are extremely excited to be bringing in Scott Bahr from Cairn Consulting Group who will be presenting can’t-miss information and data on camping and glamping trends. Scott is arguably the nation’s leading expert on market research in outdoor hospitality and it’s really special that he’s willing to share that knowledge with our attendees,” Lindley mentioned.

MARVAC hopes to turn this into an annual event. “A new event can take a bit to gain traction, but we are confident in the value and are hoping it will become popular,” Lindley concluded.
