‘Magical’ Moment: Arctic Wolves Investigate Photographers (Video)

Silas Pijamini is an Inuk explorer and guide who helps wildlife enthusiasts view and photograph wild wolves in Canada’s High Arctic. Pijamini recently shared a video on TikTok showing several Arctic wolves investigating photographers as they lie on the ground, waiting for the perfect shot.
The video went viral, with nearly 20 million views. Pijamini doesn’t provide any background information for his post; he just labels it with a date—Saturday April 12, 2025. While this may be a normal occurrence for Pijamini, the TikTok community agrees that it’s actually pretty magical.

In the video, two photographers lie on the icy ground. One wolf approaches the first photographer and rubs its face on the ground, as if it’s looking for a pet. Another wolf approaches and curiously sniffs the man’s leg. The first wolf then moves on to a second photographer and gives him a once-in-a-lifetime chance at a photograph.
In fact, the top comment on the TikTok video is: “PLEASE TELL ME YOU GOT THAT SHOT.”
Many others note how it seems like the wolves want to snuggle and play.
“So Arctic Wolves . . . could snuggle? Looks like they could snuggle,” one person wrote.
Thankfully, the photographers don’t reach out the touch the animals to test out this theory.
