Love’s RV Travel Stops to Number Nearly 90 by Year’s End – RVBusiness – Breaking RV Industry News

Who would have anticipated that Love’s truck stops would become a mecca for RV travelers? Yet, three years after the national chain opened its first RV Travel Stop – and, perhaps, as a testament to the mainstreaming of the RV lifestyle – the company now operates 57 locations catering to RVers, with 31 more planned to open by the end of 2024.

According to the company’s website, Love’s Travel Stops is the nation’s leading travel stop network, with 644 locations in 42 states. Founded in 1964 and headquartered in Oklahoma City, the company remains family-owned and operated, employing over 40,000 people. Love’s provides professional truck drivers and motorists 24-hour access to clean and safe places to purchase gasoline, diesel fuel, fresh coffee, restaurant offerings, and more.

RVBusiness spoke with Jim Wheeler, Love’s Director of Hospitality and RV Operations, about the organization’s RV focus and plans for the future.

“We see the RV traveler as an important over-the-road customer for us today,” explained Wheeler. “Recognizing this, we asked ourselves how we could better accommodate that customer. RVers were already visiting our locations, and we wanted to serve them better.”

Wheeler noted that Love’s RV Stops are equipped with 30 and 50-amp electrical service, water, sewer or dump station, and wifi. Larger facilities include a dog park, laundry, showers, and access to a convenience store, restaurant, and propane.

A new showcase location in Hardin, Montana, in proximity to Yellowstone National Park, is planned to open this April. Wheeler described it as a luxury RV resort. “It will have all the amenities—including a dog park, basketball court, communal fire pit, fire rings and picnic tables, restrooms, showers, and laundry facility.”

According to Wheeler, site bookings are robust as we head into the season, and many locations are filling up quickly. Aiding RVs to reserve a site is Love’s updated app—Love’s Connect with the RV function, available on the Google Play Store and iOS.

The app enables users to find, reserve, and pay for a camping site at any Love’s RV location and activates the power pedestal, water, and sewer once they have arrived. It’s a virtual campground host on duty 24/7.

“We’ve had a great response to the RV app,” added Wheeler. “People are discovering it and really like how convenient it is to reserve, pay, and check in through the app, any time, day or night.”

In addition, it’s no secret that RVers are looking for a deal, and the Love’s Connect app offers a 10-cent/gallon discount on gasoline or diesel fuel purchased at any Love’s location.

Earlier this month, Blue Compass RV announced a partnership with Love’s Travel Stops to provide customers discounts on gas, auto-diesel, and propane through the Blue Compass RV “RV Complete” app and Love’s Connect ap

Using the RV Complete app, which comes at no charge for the first year of RV ownership to all Blue Compass RV customers, RV enthusiasts will have access to exclusive discounts at all participating Love’s nationwide. According to a release, the partnership with Blue Compass RV marks the most significant discount Love’s offers for any RV dealership group.
